Oceania slashes prices on several cruises

Oceania Cruises rolled out a big sale on 18 sailings, with fares discounted up to 75%.

A 10-day Athens-to-Istanbul cruise departing Sept. 19 is priced from $1,999 per person, including air. The price for a 12-day cruise operating the same route in late August starts at $4,700 per person.

Oceania also is discounting a 12-day Caribbean cruise roundtrip from Miami on Dec. 10, with fares starting at $949, including air.

Several 2012 cruises are featured in the promotion, including a South America sailing from Rio de Janeiro to Valparaiso, Chile; two Asia cruises; and voyages that transit the Suez and Panama canals.

“Rarely have consumers had the opportunity to enjoy the Oceania Cruises experience at such affordable fares,” said James Rodriguez, the line’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “The rising cost of an airline ticket makes our free air promotion a better value than at any time in our history.”
