![]() The area has two designated treatment rooms, and parents will be able to send their kids off for teen-friendly facials, massages, body treatments, manicures, pedicures and more while they get their own more grown-up treatments in the main spa, catch naps in their cabins or visit the adults-only areas of the ship. The Chill Spa will also feature a separate seating area and showers, so there’s truly no need to mingle with adults. Reservations can be made online before setting sail. It’s worth noting that Disney is not the first cruise line to feature a dedicated youth spa facility. Royal Caribbean‘s gargantuan Oasis of the Seas debuted the youth spa concept last December, offering three designated treatment rooms comprising its Y-Spa. Although no other cruise ship has a specified facility, lines including Carnival, NCL and Princess do offer youth-oriented spa treatments (think Acne Attack) in the main spas on select ships. Additional details about the ship’s onboard amenities and features have been emerging over the past several months, including those about new dining options like the introduction of the upscale, French-themed alternative restaurant Remy and the Enchanted Garden, a main dining room that will offer International cuisine and use lighting and other technology to transform its appearance as night falls. Other already-announced features include the industry’s first water coaster (the AquaDuck), virtual portholes in all inside cabins and an interactive play floor. |
Sounds fantastic – it’s great that they are allowing teenagers to do things that adults can do as well in their own seperate place. I think Disney are right to do this as Disneys demographic is children and teenagers. Well done disney.
